Short bio
Raquel Tsukada is currently a Ph.D. Fellow at the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) and Maastricht University (The Netherlands). She received her M.Sc. in Development Economics from the Ohio State University (USA), M.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Tsukuba (Japan) and B.A. in Economics from University of Brasilia (Brazil). Raquel has served the Brazilian government at the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, and at the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs. Her Ph.D. research investigates the economic impact of intrahousehold time (re)allocation as a consequence of basic infrastructure upgrading in poor households (in particular, access to improved water supply).
